Position Description:
- Day to Day manufacturing support (i.e., machine changeovers, trouble shooting, tooling inspection/verification, etc.)
- Work closely with Team Members and Production Supervisors to reduce/eliminate waste and quality issues.
- Identify opportunities for Yield & Operational improvements.
- Completion of work documentation, i.e. communication logs, setup sheets, maintenance logs. Observe machine/cell condition (look and listen) for signs ! of wear, water leaks, oil leaks, etc. Repair or communicate to proper personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Assist and conduct training as required.
- Ensure proper communication is effectively passed on from shift to shift.
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Other duties as assigned
Education / Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates Degree in a Technical Discipline preferred or 2-4 years of equivalent technical experience.
- 2-4 years of manufacturing experience required
- Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read drawings and blueprints, follow formulas, and read measurement instruments. Basic math skills.
- Computer skills. (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
- B! asic understanding of SPC and data analysis.
- Exposure and understanding of lean manufacturing and six sigma tools.
- Knowledge of extrusion â€" either through formal qualification or work based learning
- Self starter with drive and enthusiasm for quality and yield improvements
- Ability to work as part of an effective team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and experience of working in the medical devices industry preferred.
