You are invited to join a team a team-oriented medical staff providing care for those who have served. Manchester VA Medical Center's services include urgent care, primary care, ambulatory surgery, specialty c! linics, mental health services, hospital-based home care, comm! unity acute care, and long term care. In addition to the medical center, it also operates four (4) community-based outpatient clinics and is internationally recognized for its research in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other behavioral disorders. Academic affiliations include Dartmouth Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Rivier School of Nursing, and more.

DUTIES:
The incumbent will serve as part of the core component to the Urgent Care Medical System.
- Provides ambulatory medical care for patients without a scheduled appointment.
- Accesses need for treatment for an acute medical or psychiatric illness or minor injuries.
- Possesses recent clinical experience in either an urgent care clinic or emergency room.
- Manchester VA Medical Center is seeking an MD/DO with a background in family practice, internal medicine, emergency medicine or general surgery.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine/Emergency Medicine/General Surgery preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
a.
Citizenship
. Citizen of the United States.
b.
Education.
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are:
(1) Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.
(2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted.
(3) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of C! olumbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.
c.
Licensure.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. Incumbent must be board eligible/board certified in internal medicine or family practice physician.
d.
Physical Requirements.
Must pass a pre-employment physical. The Physical Requirements of this position are concerned with the mental and physical ability of the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the proposed assignment and may include requisite laboratory and other screening as required by Federal regulatory agencies.
