English Language Proficiency required. DUTIES:
The Manchester VA Medical Center is currently recruiting for a full-tim! e Staff Physician specializing in Non-Invasive Cardiology to serve veteran patients in the outpatient Specialty and Acute Care Service Line. The Physician will be responsible for providing the following:

  • Responsible for providing initial evaluation and follow-up visits of patients with cardiac disease.
  • Expertise in both echocardiography and nuclear cardiology preferred. Additional expertise in other areas of non-invasive cardiology are welcome.
  • Uses physician order entry for all prescriptions, laboratory and radiology orders, consult requests and notes into the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) Program.
  • Reviews laboratory, radiology, procedure and consultation reports and
  • Communicates normal and/or abnormal results to patients.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate coding of all outpatient encounters.
  • Works in a team atmosphere delivering medical care to patients.
TOUR OF DUTY: ! Monday through Friday, 0800-4:30pm. NO ON-CALL REQUIRED.

QU! ALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
a. Citizenship . Citizen of the United States.

b. Education. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are:

(1) Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.
(2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted.
(3) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.

c. Licensure. Current, full and unrestricted lic! ense to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. Incumbent must be board eligible/board certified in internal medicine or family practice physician.

d. Physical Requirements. Must pass a pre-employment physical.

e. English Language Proficiency. Physicians must be proficient in spoken and written English.
