Virtual Facilitator for Work-Based Learning
Program Dates: June 12 - August 11
Post Program Wrap Up: August 14 - 18
Wages: $18-$20/hour based on experience
The LEAP Program provides blind or visually impaired youth the opportunity to gain the skills needed to become independent, confident, and productive with the outcome of increased employability.
This is a flexible position that will allow facilitators to work with students to create a schedule that fits both of their needs. The position generally requires 5-15 hours per week.
Location: Virtual
Job Description:
- Fully engage with pre-program trainings
- Attend weekly Work-Based Learning work sessions to provide support as needed for students and facilitators
- Support students in achieving their work objectives and responsibilities
- Encourage students to work directly with facilitators and peers
- Host a weekly small group check-in in order to support students with work skills and project completion
- Communicate 1:1 with students via phone or email to check in about their progress and needs with regards to Work-Based Learning
- Review student’s weekly timesheets and sign to confirm that the timesheet is filled in accurately and turned in on time (each Friday)
- Check in with LEAP Virtual Developer as needed to discuss possible challenges with students and problem solve
- Complete weekly report notes
Skills & Qualifications:
- A demonstrated interest and excitement for working with youth ages 14-24
- Experience in facilitating educational programs
- Proficient in online platforms such as Zoom
- Ability to secure the confidence, respect, and cooperation of students
