The Global Security Organization provides industry-leading cyber-security and business protection services to TikTok globally. Our organization employs four principles that guide our strategic and tactical operations. Firstly, we Champion Transparency & Trust by leading the charge in organizational transparency, prioritizing customer trust, and placing user needs first. Secondly, we aim to maintain Best in Class Global Security by proactively identifying and reducing risks while enabling innovative product development. In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office for 2 to 3 days a week, as directed by their manager. We are looking for someone to provide senior leadership and direction to the Security Advocacy team, which includes functions such as the Client Service Management Office (CSMO), the Training and Awareness Program, and the External Inquiry Program
Responsibilities
- Partner with executive security and engineering leadership, communications, legal, and government relations teams to proactively articulate the company's external security messaging.
- Develop strategies to tell TikTok's security story via trusted third parties and spokespersons through various channels
- Set the strategy and manage the CSMO team, responsible for enabling the sales process by interfacing with customer accounts and stewarding trust and transparency about our security practices among customers
- Set the strategy and manage the team responsible for executing the annual Security Training Program, including its phishing campaigns and security policy trainings
- Set the strategy and manage the team responsible for the Company-Wide security Awareness Program, including its participation in National Cyber Security Awareness Month
- Lead a team to create content, videos, and presentations that demonstrates how to TikTok’s security and privacy program is market differentiator
- Network and build relationships with security leaders and infosec practitioners in the security community, fostering third party advocacy on behalf of TikTok.
- Partner with communication and security teams across the company to promote security standard methodologies that align with business messages
- Shape wording and branding in security-focused internal communication services
- Establish/expand on important metrics for program maturity and communication effectiveness and use that information and feedback from other sources to continuously bring improvements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in security, privacy, compliance, project management, analytics from an accredited college/university or measurable knowledge/experience from proven industry, military, defense, or government operations.
- 8-10+ years of work experience, ideally in corporate or security communications.
- Experience in client service
- Familiarity with cybersecurity issues, audit and assurance requirements and the handling of incidents, breaches, and data protection.
- Proven experience working with 3rd party communities, social media and blogging preferred.
- Demonstrated experience teaching complex concepts by breaking them down into easy-to-understand pieces to increase adoption and provide solutions for common security scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills - ability to be both a strong technical writer as well as a dynamic public speaker.
- A self-starter that can manage and prioritize initiatives that will make the security community and our platform the most successful.
- Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional listening, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and adapting quickly and flexibly to change.

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $195000 - $324720 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
