A Mobility Assistant is a Licensed Nursing Assistant whose primary responsibilities are the mobility and ambulation of patients who have Joint Arthroplasty. The individual in this role will ! work collaboratively with Rehabilitation and Nursing staff to prepare patients for therapy sessions, as well as, to mobilize patients during the post-operative recovery period.
Under the direction of the Orthopaedic Inpatient Surgery Nurse Manager, the Mobility Assistant provides nursing personnel and Rehabilitation staff assistant with selected patient care needs. Primary functions include working with patients who have had Joint Arthroplasty surgery to assist in their mobilization during the acute care phase of the post-operative period. This may include providing additional patient care assistance with activities of daily living. This position will be considered authorized to have direct access to drug products and secure medication locations in order to manage the storage, handling and disposal of medications as outlined in the job brief.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school graduate with NH certification and registration as a Nursing Ass! istant required. Must demonstrate keyboarding skills and be fa! miliar with computer use. BLS certification required at time of hire. Previous hospital experience preferred.
