Position Description

This position has the responsibil! ity and authority to direct overall marketing plans specific to the PlasmaBlade product line(s). Within the scope of this is to oversee and provide input on product changes, line expansion and new product development, in addition to collateral, education, and training activities. This role will also provide guidance and direction on the clinical and regulatory strategy needed to expand claim structure around the PlasmaBlade in accordance with various procedures and markets, and support for future business development activities as the Advanced Energy product portfolio expands. Also within the scope of this position are justified field visits not limited to: medical education events, fellowship/resident training, Value Analysis Committees, C-suite presentations, surgeon technique training and field sales education.
Position Responsibilities

Provide in depth technical knowledge in regards to the PlasmaBlade product line to internal and external customers.
Gui! de clinical and regulatory strategy needed for the product to ! be successful clinically and economically, including clinical data collection and analysis.
Support and guide product marketing, clinical education, and sales training of product .
Support business development activities including networking, acquisition target diligence, and integration support.
Develop a 5-year strategic plan for the PlasmaBlade product line including claim structure, new markets and product development.
Develop relationships with other Medtronic divisions to ensure coordination of medical education events, co-marketing opportunities and growth.
Seek out and develop strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.
Provide field sales support for high-level presentations and educational events.
Develop comprehensive plans for bringing major new products to market and actively leads the development effort, including voice of customer activities, product conceptualization, development of product proposals, product training, and prod! uct launch.
Analyze product line performance from both a quantitative and qualitative standpoint to determine which products should be discontinued.
Attend trade shows and courses in support of product line.
Stay well-informed of current and future clinical practices through attendance at clinical symposiums, review of published clinical and basic science, and review of textbooks.
Based on product line analysis reports, take corrective action as needed to insure acceptable profitability.
Comply with the Medtronic Surgical Technologies site quality system and Business Conduct Standards.
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor degree, preferably in business administration, engineering, life sciences, or nursing.
10 years of work experience with BS/BA degree
8 years of work experience with advanced degree
3 years of successful product management experience
Prioritize activities and allocate resources for greatest effectiveness.
Exempl! ary written and verbal communications skills.
Leadership skills to ! guide a multifunctional product development team.
Ability to seek out, validate, and define new product concepts.
Demonstrated abstract and concrete problem solving skills.
Understanding of the various level of clinical support for desired claims.
Understanding of FDA regulatory requirements for products.
In-depth knowledge of clinical pathways and clinical claim structure.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications

Master in Business Administration or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) preferred
Electrosurgical skills, especially with PlasmaBlade, preferred.
