Page Street Publishing is looking for a freelance Human Resources professional to support our growing company and staff of fifty. This professional would assist the company by administering payroll and benefits and onboarding new employees. They would answer all employee questions regarding payroll and benefits. They would report to Page Street’s President and CFO.
This position will handle all payroll functions; updating salaries for raises or promotions; processing employee terminations and severance; setting up new hires. They will also deal with various states establishing tax IDs and unemployment accounts, review and confirm activity by state monthly, and handle all associated questions from employees.
This position will also administer benefits to employees, including working closely with outside insurance agents and employees to inform and establish Health and Dental benefits, 401k, PTO, unemployment, FPML, student loan reimbursement.
Candidates should have previous payroll experience; knowledge of HR policies, processes and employment laws; and experience in managing compensation, evaluations, and employee retention programs. Experience in accounting is preferred.
Expected workload would be 10 to 15 hours per week and the pay is $30 per hour. Due to the sensitivity of employee information this person would handle, an NDA would need to be signed at the start of employment.
